G33 does not do what was expected

Delta, 180mm bed, single head, probe is at 0,0 offset (built into the head).

Hi I am following the z-probing guide having a problem when running g33.

tested the probe, it and measures as expected when using g30. I set the endstops per the video and guide,

I set my test points to the values in the guide since they should work for my delta. Confirmed they are set in eeprom.

When I run G33 it started testing. Then tried to position the head far off the bed far outside the measurement points (actually breaking the carbon fiber horizontal rod). Repetier host also generated errors stating it was trying to set point outside of the range. Did miss something ?

These probe points are for G32. G33 has it's own set of coordinates and they are compile dinto firmware so only visible in configuration.h or config tool if you used it. Please check what range you have set there.

Ok I'm still lost. G31 works great so does G32. If I run G33 it still tries to measure points off the bed .Here is my configuration.h. Where would I set the points for G33 ? (BTW if I try to use create a bed height map it also fails about half way through as well)

For deltas you normally start at xmin/ymin -70% of radius or whatever is reachable with z probe.

Soo close :) I messed around with that setting but it appeared like it didn't have an effect. So for a starting point on a print bed with a 90mm radius, (the z probe offset of 0,0 and assuming 70%) I could use :#define DISTORTION_XMIN 27

You mean it is no delta printer? You selected drive system 3 which is a delta. Distortion map makes only sense if you cover most of the bed.

It is a Delta Kossel with a 180mm bed. Distortion mapping (G33) does not work. that command always attempts to move the print head off the print surface and will continue to until it snaps the rods if allowed. This is regardless of what I set for Distortion xmin\yminI tried to use a smaller values to see if it would at least try to stay on the bed in that example. I have also tried (unsuccessfully )#define DISTORTION_XMIN -63

I just tried it again. G32 works as expected. G28 works as expected then G33 lowers the head to x0 y0 z3.10.The first position it sends it to is x -73.64, Y 89.96 Z -443.44. and I have to power the unit off. Where is it getting these values from ??

@Taxus812 I always run the eeprom_clear sketch before I flash the firmware, just to start at the same point everytime I flash it. I also changethe eeprom_mode #.

Well I used EEPROM Clear and I have the same result. I cleared eeprom, uploaded my firmware, Performed a G30 (to test), performed a G32 and it was a also a success. Then performed a G33 and the head was driven hard to the back left and I have to power down to stop it.

My configuration.h is the same as above with one change

Im about to give up on it. I can print fine and it is fairly easy to calibrate but I wanted to use the distortion compensation to get a better first layer.

Do you go down close to bed before sending G33? Doing it from top is not possible without touching endstops making position behave wrong.
