Set domain/ static IP using RepetierServer-extra.xml

We want to configure the static IP to the hostname of the device the server is running on so we are flexible in regards of ip-address changes.
How can I configure this property in the xml?

Path in UI: /gsettings/connectivity -> ServerDomain / Static IP

No that is not what the fields are for. You can enter an existing domain there. All it does is on home screen to show this as access url.

If you are using our pi image you can set the hostname of the server in network settings and since it is running bonjour service you can access it with "hostname.local" on all devices in your network that support this standard like iphone. Only watch out all images have be default same hostname so you need different names if you run multiple instances.

We implemented a module to generate QR codes on a per-printer basis. The modules uses those repetier variables.
So for deployment, it could be beneficial to set the hostname with the config file automatically, so we dont need to do this with the UI.
When I understood you correctly, it is not possible to do so?

Only for our pi images we have a script that server detects allowing it to set the hostname. On all other solutions it is up to os to do so. For linux this is trivial and often asked on install already. Host required bonjour to be installed as well or you need a internal dns server all users use where you can enter names. But there are so many ways and solutions and since it is not really what aprint server does it is not included. pi is an exception since many manufacturers use this as basis and users should not know about the underlying os.
