Changing heated bed thermistor config

My heated bed thermistor is clearly using the wrong configuration, because I have it set to 55c, have measured it at 75, and repetier reads it out as 114c. I've found some forum posts about this error, but they all refer to a configuration.h file (windows?) which doesn't exist on my ubuntu 16.04 install and I can't seem to find the equivalent config file for this installation. any help would be greatly appreciated

    They refer to your firmware not a host file. You need then to recompile and upload a new firmware with correct thermistor selected. Different thermistors use different temperature-resistance curves so it is important to compile with the one used.
