alligator vs radds

Ok my 8bit megatronics is going to be replaced by a 32 bit version.
The choice is between alligator and radds.
Normally i would take the RADDS version 1.5 but it seems to get delayed all the time. Has anybody any experience with the alligator board?Which one of these works best together with repetier in combination with a deltaprinter?
Should i keep on waiting for the RADDS or buy the alligator?
Or is there another better 32 bits contender?

thanks in advance

  • These 2 are the only one I could advice for. I know the final big batch of radds is ordered and should already be there - if not shoudl come any day now. What you want depends on what you need. With radds you can have 1/128 stepper driver while alligator has 1/32 stepper driver build in. The rest that gets used has no functional difference from firmware side. Speed is the same.
  • You were right, The new RADDS is available again. I oredered one with an UDOO. I have chosen the RADDS because of the 128 steps drivers, which could be an improvement for my oversized printer. Smaller steps means improved accuracy, but we will see in real life.
