Error message M999

I am running an XP laptop and get the following error after the printer as printed a few layers. I am using Solidoodle 2 3D printer.

"Printer stopped due to errors. Fix error and use M999 to restart (Temperature reset. Set it before restarting)"

When I load repetier host on another laptop with XP and run the 3D printer it works perfectly with no error messages.

Any suggestions.

  • Use a powered usb hub to connect to printer. Seems like the usb port is underpowered confusing marlin.
  • Hi thanks for the quick reply.

I have connected up a powered USB hub and I get the same problem. It works fine on my daughters laptop but gives the above error message on mine. Also tried it on my Mac and get the same problem.

That is most likely unrelated to switching computers unless one of them has the temp set past 220. Check the temp settings in the start code along with in the slic3r profile and on the manual screen in RH. So that's 3 different temp settings in 3 different location. If those are all good you have a bad thermistor connection.

I did this and it fixed it.

    Thanks for your help.
