Enter G-Code Commands in Repetier for Windows?

Hi,

I am new to 3D printing.  I just got a Printrbot Simple Metal, and I've been trying to figure out how to print with it.  I'm having trouble calibrating the Z-axis--it's always too high.  I've read that you're supposed to type M501 somewhere to find the Z height, then M212 Z (-some amount) to change the offset height.  However, I can't figure out where to enter this command, and I haven't been able to find any information on this.  One of the tutorials said that there should be a G-code editor at the bottom of the window, but there's not.  I'm using a Windows computer.  Any advice would be much appreciated.
