Linear vs quadratic advanced pressure control

Hello,

Does anyone know the difference between linear and quadratic pressure control.

Quadratic seems to alter the extruder steps much more on deceleration but causes issues on acceleration.

Linear doesn't seem to have as drastic effect.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

  • Just plot y=x and y = x^2 and you see the difference. Quadratic is at the beginning slower and the raises much faster. That can easily be too fast for extruder/filament. Also koefficients normally have different ranges. L is normally much larger then K.
  • Is it possible to use a combination of the two?
  • Yes, you can combine. Then both steps are added.
