Plugin filament color

Good day,

is it possible to alter the color of specific filament parts/layers with a plugin,
just like how the selected filament color with the g-code editor works?

    The color of filaments is defined by the setting in printer settings and in case of selection by selected color. Other colors are not possible with the preview system.
