Mirror an Object on a non-Z axis

edited August 2015 in General
Hallo,
I'm sure the answer to thi is very simple, but I can't figure it out...

After importing an STL file, I'd like to mirror it horizontally, but the "mirror" button (shortcut: M) only does it on a specific (non selectable) direction: Isn't it possible to choose with respect to which axis the object gets mirrored?

Looking on Google, I found some suggestion about setting the scale factor on the desired axis to -1 (which would be great in fact), but the box turns red and the negative number is not accepted (I suppose this was changed on some version of the software...).

Thank you for your help!

  • No only mirror works and that mirrors x axis. That is all you need since mirror y is mirror x + 180° rotate on z. Same for mirror z.
  • Oh I didn't think about first mirroring and then rotating... :)
    That solves the mistery!

    Thank you very much!
